Where it began
A secret space society dropped two pods with the first humans on Earth and watched in anticipation as the humans attempted to grow a stubborn seedling. The humans built their villages and created a trade system around the seedling that refused to grow.
The first five generations on humans passed away and the seedling remained. One day the village leader birthed a daughter named Moniq but everyone called her Moni. She was read stories by the village people about the great seedling; and they taught her how to care for it. On Moni's fourth birthday it sprouted and grew like no other plant the village had seen before.
Everyone gathered and saw the tree grew weird-looking leaves. Green but with strange symbols that looked like an S with an I in the middle. They tried eating them, but they didn't like the texture. They tried steeping it for tea, but it just tasted like dirt. They left it alone for a couple months, they were confused about what it was supposed to do because everything on earth had a purpose, but this tree was different and had no name.
