The Money Myth

The secret space society watched in anticipation, because even they didn't even know what tree it was. They sent more humans to help take care of the tree. They built their villages and created a trade system. One day, the tree grew leaves, weird-looking leaves. Everyone gathered. It was green and had strange symbols that looked like an S with an I in the middle. They tried eating them, but they didn't like the texture. They tried steeping it for tea, but it just tasted like dirt. They left it alone, but they were confused about what it was supposed to do because everything on earth had a purpose. One day, one of the villagers' 4-year-olds, whose name was Moniq, wanted to mimic her parents' weekly trading at the different posts, but she had nothing to trade. She picked a leaf and gave it to the baker in exchange for a sweet treat. The baker smiled and accepted this trade. Moniq told the other 4-year-olds of this, and soon they all began to pick from the tree. Everyone loved Moniq, she made friends everywhere she went and was a strong leader at a young age. The adults continued to accept the trades from Moniq and the other children they even made boxes to keep the leaves. Moniq grew sick before her 6th birthday and no longer came to the posts, when she passed the leaves no longer circulated. The children had lost their friend, to lift their spirits the adults made a game for their completed tasks they would get a leaf and they could trade it for a treat, soon those children turned into teens and into the new adults. The leaves became their new trade system, they planted more trees and named them Moni.
