The Money Myth

Months later, Moni's curiosity began to peak, and she wanted to mimic the villages weekly trading at the different posts, but she had nothing to trade.

She decided to pick a leaf from the tree and gave it to the baker in exchange for a sweet treat. The baker smiled and accepted this trade. Moni told the other 4-year-olds of this, and soon they all began to pick from the tree.

Everyone loved Moniq, she made friends everywhere she went and was a strong leader at a young age. The adults continued to accept the trades from Moni and the other children, they even made boxes to keep the leaves.

Moni grew sick before her 6th birthday and no longer came to the posts, when she passed, the leaves no longer circulated. The children had lost their friend; to lift their spirits the adults made a game.

When they completed tasks they would get a leaf, and they could trade it for a treat, soon those children turned into teens and into the new adults.

The leaves became their new trade system; they planted more trees and named them Moni trees.
